America’s cup
The America’s Cup (sailing) is the most important competition in the sport of sailing and is one of the most popular event in the world, after the Football World Cup and The Olympic Games. The 32nd edition took place in Valencia in 2007 and the next one will be in Valencia again in 2009.
Football
This is a very popular sport in Spain. The city of Valencia boasts two soccer teams in the Spanish Premier League: FC Valencia and UD Levante. FC Valencia is one of the best Spanish football club and it is among the best clubs since many years. Its stadium is the Mestalla Stadium, which has a capacity of 55000 spectators. It is situated in the heart of the city and now is under renovation so that in 2009 it will host till 75000 people. That will be the new Mestalla. Regarding to UD Levante, this is another club of the city but less important.
